I just came across a great organization, Urban Farming. Their mission is to diminish hunger and utilize unused urban land for farming. They encourage youth and seniors to get involved in their communities while creating programs for diverse neighborhoods. They build gardens to grow food in order to feed those in need. Urban Farming donates the food that is grown to other organizations who in turn feed the hungry communities.
