Where to Start? 10/22/2009 Karma: 1
I have noticed, and am overly sensitive to, the lack of recycling in certain venues across the country. Awhile back when traveling, I noticed that there was not a recycling system set up in any of the four airports I stopped at. I learned that it is a slow moving process because of airport infrastructure, that airports are way behind in recycling, but there is a movement to get it started universally. Phew!

More recently, I played my first & second rounds of golf (ever) at two different courses in the Bay Area. I realized that a lot of golfers like to drink and eat on the course, but there isn't an option for them to recycle their waste. So it made me wonder, how do you get a recycling initiative for a place like a golf course started? Has anyone tried this? Or do you have any other venues that need attention or pressure to offer recycling?

I am also frustrated with this. I experienced something similar when I went to Utah to visit my grandparents. They live about 2 hours outside Salt Lake City (which is the nearest "big" city) and they do not have a recycling program anywhere in their city.
I got a little curious about this and found a few links that could help someone start a recycling program whether it is at the office, school, etc.

I hope these help!
