You can measure the sugar content in anything you eat and this will help you to comprehend the relative nutritional value of the food you are testing.

This is useful when checking to see how rich the soil is if you are testing the produce you grew yourself.
If the soil is rich, the crop yields a higher sugar content. Crops with higher sugar content are more resistant to pests and disease, which indicates that they might be healthier.
