I was wondering if anyone had experimented with simple hoop-houses or greenhouses in a home garden. I went to a workshop about building hoop houses in order to grow vegetables year round even in cold climates such as Michigan, but this was targeted at larger gardens or farms. I was wondering if anyone had tried something like this on a smaller scale and had tips and feedback on the experience.
Do people have other experiences with growing vegetables year round? I'm living in Tennessee next year, so it won't get too cold, but will get colder in the winter, and I was wondering if anyone had an idea of how I could grow throughout the season without investing in too much infrastructure.
Thanks

I found an article that claimed that "you can assemble a residential low hoop house in just a couple of hours, at a cost of $1 or less per square foot" (http://goliath.ecnext.com/coms2/gi_0199-7358754/Extend-your-growing-season-build.html).

Although this one doesn't seem to be quite as cheap as $1 per square foot, it does seem relatively reasonable and portable, and, in a place as warm as Tennessee, it might be able to extend your growing season even more than the article claims. I'd recommend checking out this cold frame:

Here are a couple of other relatively cheap, easy-to-set-up, and portable greenhouses for you to consider:

Good luck with your gardening! If you come up with any general tips about good hoop houses or greenhouses, I'd be interested to hear.
