Recycled Glass Art Projects 03/24/2011 Karma: 1
I have a small collection of sentimental champagne bottles. I want to turn them into lamps. I've read that it is fairly simple but I do need to get my hands on a diamond cutter. I also have a few San Pellegrino bottles that I just think are pretty because of the green glass and would like to make an art project out of them. I have a few of the smaller sized bottles that are 8.45 fl oz. Any ides what I could do with them? Possible something that does not require the special saw for cutting glass

I found these two tutorials that allow you to cut bottles without a professional saw!

Here's my favorite project for empty bottles: I'm saving up bottles now!

I’ve actually tried to make a cup out of a corona bottle after reading how to cut a bottle using the burning string method in a magazine. I was able to cut the bottles but I could never get a clean straight cut. After reading this post I’m thinking I want to try again. I found the video below where the guy goes into a lot of detail about glass bottle cutting. It was the first video that I found where the cut was surprisingly perfect.
