LED xmas lights 12/12/2007 Karma: 3
I think LED xmas lights are ecofriendly. Has anyone used them this season?

I don't use xmas lights, but I have seen them being sold in stores, which is a good first step, they need to be readily available along with the regular non-eco-friendly lights for sale. This goes to the heart of all eco-friendly products, they need to be sold next to their non-eco-friendly counterparts, at least in my opinion, for there to be a fair fight to global-warming. There are so many cool eco-friendly gadgets out there that are such energy savers but you have to know where to find them in order to find them, which is not the most effective method in our consumer society. Sorry, I digressed a bit...

I found a Consumer Reports article
comparing LED xmas lights with incandescent lights. The LED lights use only 1-3 kilowatt hours of energy vs. 12-105 for the incandescent lights Consumer Reports tested.
